about us
Foster Wales was launched in July 2021, with the aim of bringing together 22 local authority fostering services as a network to improve the recruitment and retention of foster carers in Wales.
As one consistent brand, we aim to encourage more people in Wales to consider fostering with their local authority and support the retention of foster carers by bringing consistency and improving the offer of support, training and additional benefits across Wales.
Our main aim is to provide children with the opportunity to stay local, thrive and improve their life chances through well supported foster carers.
Funded by Welsh Government, our work supports the Welsh Government ambition for the care of children in Wales to be provided exclusively by local authorities and not-for profit organisations and remove profit-making from care in Wales by 2027.
